After leaving the traditional home stay, we took a windy drive up into the mountains (and thankfully to some cooler weather!). Some members of the group were pulling on jumpers and complaining about the cold but this Yorkshire lass was quite comfortable.

After stopping for lunch, a group of us were whisked off to the tea plantation. Around 4 members of the group had chosen to go on a trek in the jungle instead (but I had decided quite quickly this was not for me!).
There were some amazing views of the plantation, and although the factory tour was unfortunately closed, there was an interesting video that explained the process of growing the plants to becoming tea on the shelves.

After this we were to taken to the strawberry farm where I picked a little basket of strawberries.

I couldn’t resist tucking into them straight away and had scoffed the lot before we headed back to our hotel!

Once at the hotel, a small group of us sat outside, eating snacks and chatting away. The smaller group were still trekking and we were waiting for their return before getting ready for dinner. But then our leader got a message that one of the girls had fallen and hurt her wrist.
I helped him search for her passport, which was in one of her bags at the hotel, and then he rushed off to meet her at the hospital.
We waited anxiously for them to get back to find out if she was okay. A couple of hours later a van pulled up, and the group trundled out. She was in a sling and pot – her arm definitely broken. Turns out she slipped on the edge of a path (just before the end of the trek) and fell into a hole. Using her arm to stop her fall had broken it. She was drugged up but okay and able to carry on the trip until Singapore. But after that she’ll have to cut her trip short and head home to Canada.
Just glad it wasn’t any worse! And at least she has the group to help her on the next part of our journey to Kuala Lumpur!
