What a crazy city!
Whizzing around in a Tuk Tuk on my first evening was both frightening and exhilarating.

The evening started with a pad Thai and a cold beer before we headed to Khao San Road. Here we had a street food crawl with plenty to choose from, including a variety of insects, scorpions and crocodile! It’s such a vibrant place; music pumping from the bars, people having massages on the side of the road, dancing waiters and even Captain Jack Sparrow casually walked past us.

The next day was for sightseeing. We started by searching for the Golden Buddha, just around the corner of our hotel, before finding a Tuk Tuk to take us to the river ferry. From there we took the boat down river to Wat Arun and Wat Pho, both beautiful Buddhist Temples.

Inside Wat Pho is a reclining Buddha, approx 40m long and made of solid gold. Someone had told me before I went that it was big but it honestly took my breath away as soon as I walked into the temple. In fact he is so big that I could barely get him all in one photo!

All in all, a crazy but great start to my travel journey! Thank you Bangkok.
That is a serious amount of gold.
On reflection, I would give the insects a miss.
